Yves Béhar and fuseproject design Mission One:
The world’s fastest production electric sportbike

Swiss-born, San Francisco-based industrial designer Yves Béhar and his studio fuseproject are proud to announce their latest project; the world’s fastest production electric sportbike for America’s newest Motorcycle Company, Mission Motors. fuseproject was commissioned to not only design the bike, but also create the name, identity and positioning for the entire brand.

Founded in 2007, Mission Motors is geared to redefine the world of performance motorcycles by combining a desire to develop clean electric vehicles with a passion for the thrill of fast bikes. While other electric motorbike brands make overt references to their eco-friendly operations, Mission One’s focus is on performance. At the core of the business is Mission Motors’ development of a proprietary high-energy lithium ion battery pack that can provide both the range and acceleration needed for a high performance sportbike. With a top speed of 150mph, an estimated range of 150 miles and max torque at zero RPM, the Mission One rivals gasoline sportbikes while dwarfing the performance of any other electric motorcycle on the market.

Responding to Mission Motors’ values, Yves Béhar and fuseproject have created a staggeringly innovative design which offers an entirely new aesthetic for a premium sportbike. Mission One’s sharp lines and detailed design pay careful attention to the subtle elements that are essential to the visceral appeal of a premium sportbike.

fuseproject has worked closely with Mission Motors’ founders from the outset, to create not only the first bike, but also develop a name and brand identity for the company as a whole, which has been implemented across the board from the company’s logo and website to kiosks and other collateral material.

”This project was a dream come true: a statement about how design can make performance and sustainability come together without compromise,” Yves Béhar explains. “I believe Mission is an icon for a new era of efficient and exciting vehicles. Designed to express speed and efficiency in its overall sharp lines, the Mission bike is also highly detailed with special attention to a rider’s needs, bringing a high level of product design and ergonomics to a new generation of performance transportation.”

Mission One demonstrates incontestably that green or ‘virtuous’ products don’t have to equate with indifferent design. Instead, fuseproject has created a new aesthetic language for motorcycles that is destined to become iconic.

The concept is simple: Redefine the world of performance motorcycles.
