Eco-Conscious knickers
Quoted best by Abigail Doan ‘Eco-lingerie’ may seem like an oxymoron to some – a silly self-indulgence that really does not get to the core of what might be essential for streamlining an eco-friendly closet or sustainable wardrobe. But consider the fact that what lies right next to your skin is indeed your second skin and a measure of who you are and how your feel about being naked or exposed. If anything is going to send the right message about your crusade to save the planet or reducing your carbon footprint, it’s the skivvies you flaunt!
Let’s face it, being truly eco-friendly involves very personal choices – why shouldn’t your sexy eco undies be included in this mix? Check out the brands below and get some sexy sustainable style.

Nike PreCool Vest
Nike Sports Research lab discovered that the body wastes threequarters of its energy regulating heat, while only a quarter is devoted to moving muscles. With this in mind, Nike’s Advanced Innovation Team (AIT), created an icefilled vest to reduce an athlete’s core body temperature just before an event, for that extra competitive edge.
The second generation design, introduced at the Beijing Olympics, is greatly enhanced by triangulated welded watertight pouches developed by medical supply company Dialectrics that better contour to the wearer and can be filled and frozen on-site, making it lighter to transport. Reusing waste materials from the manufacture of Nike Air soles and old suits to create the felt carrying case, energy is saved in more ways than one. Nike.com
Y-Water
At best, most children’s beverages contribute little or nothing to a child’s nutrition. At worst, they are positively harmful. To create a healthy, organic water alternative that appealed to kids, Y-water enlisted designer Yves Behar to tackle the problem.
The answer: make it fun! After drinking, the playful Y-shaped bottle becomes a toy. The 100% recyclable bottles come with 100% biodegradable Yknot connectors that can be built into structures and shapes, making it100% reusable. A perfect example of product as packaging, the creative developmental aid also teaches kids about sustainability.
